Celebrate the 100th birthday of the first feature length animated film still in existence Lotte Reininger's The Adventures of Prince Achmed

Silent Centenarians is a series curated to celebrate 3 classic silent films turning 100 with brand new live improvised piano scores. Our second film of the series The Adventures of Prince Achmed is a masterpiece. Lotte Reininger pioneered use of silhouette cutout animation, multiplane camera techniques, and her film is a rare example of a silent film in vibrant color with each and every frame hand tinted. The film is accompanied by improvisational pianist Devereux Geiger.
