As an educator, Devereux specializes in teaching through improvisation and helping pianists become more well-rounded.

Devereux grew up in New Hampshire, a triplet and one of five children. He attributes much of his strength in collaboration to the connections he has to his family and loved ones. He and his wife Ella McGaunn Geiger reside in Massachusetts where they co-own Interlude Music.
